The Walt Disney Studios
Burbank, CA
Born 110 years ago today, Walt’s legacy continues in animation, film, design, theme parks, user experience, urban planning, and childhoods the world over. This shot was taken near sunset at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, a place where many of Walt’s great ideas were birthed and executed, including the studio itself: one of the last “old Hollywood” studios remaining and functioning to this day.
The Partners statue is a staple at Disney theme parks the world over, but the one at the studios in Burbank is somewhat unique in that you can walk right up to it at eye level, whereas the theme park ones tend to be out of reach, surrounded by a garden and on a pedestal. Tokyo Disneyland’s is similarly approachable although it is slightly raised.
Thanks for thinking big while still sweating the little things, Walt.
