Back to Tokyo on Flickr.
Port Discovery
Tokyo DisneySea
Oh, hi. It’s been a while.
I haven’t been very… photographic lately. There’s no extravagant or exciting reason for this. Honestly, I got a little burnt out on the daily photo grind. I also moved and got really busy and life just generally got in the way. I took some time off to recharge and get things in order. I’ve been lurking and enjoying your photo feeds here and there when time permits, but that’s about it.
I’m not *quite* ready to come back to daily photos full-force just yet, but I have started working on a few things behind the scenes. One of these things is the fact that I’m going to Tokyo (again) very soon. This Saturday soon. This is a sort of do-over for the last third of the trip I took earlier this year that was cut short. That trip holds a special place in my heart for what it was and who I got to enjoy it with, but we resolved to come back and finish the trip we intended as soon as possible. We always said we wouldn’t look at what happened as a negative but as an opportunity to visit Japan again. We resolved to do it as soon as possible and I’m proud that with a bit of sacrifice here and there we were able to follow-through so quickly.
A big part of that do-over is an extended visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, something I only got a taste of earlier this year. I’m beyond excited. It’s going to be great to see areas of DisneySea again (like Port Discovery, pictured above) or any of Tokyo Disneyland since I’ve never gotten to experience that.
The Tokyo Disney resort has a bit of mystique about it, so I figured I’d share my experience in as close to real time as possible via Instagram and Twitter. Follow along there and get a sort of play-by-play of the trip (at a tasteful frequency of course: no spamming). Anything in particular you want to see photos of? Any burning questions about the experience? Questions about what Tokyo is like? Let me know here in the comments or on twitter and I’ll try and help you out (no promises though: I’m going to be enjoying myself first and foremost). I’ll of course come back with a lot of “pro” shots from the trip that will show up on Flickr (and maybe a few other spots), but I thought it would be fun to do some quick and dirty photos and interaction while I’m there as well. The fun starts this Saturday as I leave Los Angeles for Tokyo.
